Those of you that know me, know I have quirk that I have to finish a series..and this is one series that I have mostly enjoyed over the years. This is the last book of the series, and much anticipated by me since the last book came out.  I hold out a lot of hope for this book as it is the end of the series, but the last couple of books could have been so much better.  I am not sure when I will get to read it since I am so far behind in my reading, but it is up there with the rest of my personal reading.

Welcome Back!!  This week it is Favorite Authors!

Another author that I really enjoy reading is Wally Lamb.  I was first introduced to him through She's Come Undone. This was a book given to me by my mom, then I read I Know This Much Is True.  With both of these books the way the story is told is powerful.  It isn't nice and happy books all the way through, but the main characters come out with a new outlook or view of the world.  The characters grow and   develop as well as act like any real human being.  The story lines can be a bit emotional and may not be suitable for everyone, but they added to the story and didn't detract from them at all.

I do have one of his book still on my TBR mountain, which is The Hour I First Believe.  This one deals with school shootings, which is a bit sensitive for me...however I do own it and do plan to read it when I work up the nerve!

So what author would you choose this month?

An Irish Review

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!  I must say that today is a great day to talk about a book that really got me to appreciate Irish history.  It is historical fiction and while I haven't read it in a while, I thought it was great!  Here is the book I am talking about:

I totally loved the maps and the family trees that he created...very detailed and it was very much appreciated!  I have to say that the families you followed through the book and how they were dealing with what was going on during that time frame.  I loved, the first story and how green eyes were very identifying for characters of the following descendants.  The book is full of information and stories that I was captured from page 1 until the end...in fact I got the second book to it, but this one was much better in my opinion.

Welcome Back!!  So what 2 books do I think everyone should read this time? Well both books are the 1st in a series, and I recommend the rest of the series as well! Briggs.

So first up is Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, the first in the Mercy Thompson series.  This is a paranormal book that has werewolves, shapeshifters, vampires(not your sparkly kind though), and fae.  I enjoyed it and when I first read it I was just venturing more into paranormal or urban fantasy books.  It captivated me from the start and I found that with some of the other books I had devoured them in a day.  I totally recommend it to others!

The second book is Eragon by Christopher Paolini, the first in the Inheritance series.
I also enjoyed this fantasy work that I have read and even pre-ordered the other books in the series when they came out.  It is an adventurous series, with dragons and elves!  I haven't read the final book, but it is another one that I can't wait to read as I have to find out how it ends.

So there are my two books what are yours?

Here we are again choosing a favorite book....hmmm let me see:

I think it is time I talk about Harry Potter!  I honestly must say that I didn't get into it until about the time Half-Blood Prince came out, this is even after watching the first movie in the theater when it came out.  My sister had liked it from the beginning but at the time I just wasn't interested and thought of it as childish(yeah not my opinion now! )  When I finally started working at my current job, a lady I work with said that I really needed to read them, that once I get past the first 3 books that I would like them.  So I finally gave them a chance and she was right!!  I totally enjoyed them all and each time my favorite book out of the series changes...but by the time I get to the end certain reactions still hold even though I know what is going to happen, it is that powerful and I get that caught up in them.

The books do show that while good does triumph evil, there is always causalities even to the good side.  Which is nice to have that realistic aspect to it, among the other lessons that we see in all the books.  These books are a fun escape for me and has lead me in many different places in life.  I have met some great friends due to these books, as well as have a bond with my sister and memories of the last midnight book release.  So Thanks to J.K. Rowling for creating such a wonderful series that so many people, myself included, can enjoy and dream about hearing those 3 little words even into adulthood!!
